I used a basic utility knife scaring it once and went back over it a couple of times. That worked well for me. I also used a jigsaw to compare the two and found that the utility knife did the best job for me. I didn't mention earlier, but I used a 1" thick stall mat. If you plan to use both edges, make sure you cut the strip wide enough to flip over otherwise you won't be able to get the double use from it.

I like it…. :) Seems to be the most economical and probably no difference with mine. I'll see how this wear bar works, since I already have it… but I'm pretty sure you can't beat $8 a season.

If you really want to go cheap, watch for an "alligator" along the road. Tractor trailers throw some really nice pieces along the highway.
