Snow Equipment Buying/Pricing Rear blade vs. front mount snow blower

/ Rear blade vs. front mount snow blower #41
Moosehaven,

Price is always the deciding factor for me. Front mount Kubota blowers are incredibly pricy, so I bought a 6 foot rear mount blower. I have over 600 feet of driveway to do which usually takes about 2-1/2 hours. Also, the old back usually takes a kicking on the first snow fall, takes a couple of weeks at the beginning of winter to build up my back & neck muscles.
This year I checked out a new Kubota 72 front blade, found it slightly pricy as well so I built my own 6 foot front blade. I have had the opportunity to push snow twice now and I can safely recommend this combo. This cut my clean-up time in half. I have prevailing westerly winds on my property so what I've done sp far is 3 passes all to one side and then I値l clean up the one bank when required.
So like many others have stated here, I'd recommend a blade up front (real easy on the neck) & blower rear

Dan
