Hello again.
I've been looking at rear blades. I've seen the economy KingKutter at TSC for $195. Bomgaars sells a green version of the Howse with tilt for $250 which isnt too bad.

But today, I happened to stumble onto a dealer that has Woods and Cammond. A 6' standard (with tilt) Woods for $410 and a 6' Cammond with offsetting and tilt for $470. After seeing those two the others are like, well cheap in construction. And its easy to see where the extra $200 comes in.

I figure that with the Woods or Cammond I would never need another blade unless I got a bigger tractor. The KingKutter is very light, and the Bomgaars is ok.

Would appreciate any opinions from those of you who have gone through this before. As far as actual practical use, and will the tilt and offsetting be that beneficial. I will be using this blade to help make a driveway, landscaping, and snow work. I already have a nice Midwest box.

And then another thing that caught my eye was toothbars for loaders. He had some that I'm not sure who made the, I saw Bobcat on them and Ingersall Rand, but that would be around $325 to fit my loader.

Using a LK3054 Kioti 30hp

thanks
Jim

If you want to spend the bucks, the heavier the blade the better is the general rule. As well as lasting longer it will bite better because of the weight and no downpressure on your 3 point lift. I think it is a good investment.

I have a WOODS RB60 and have used it a great deal with no problems. Just wish now that I would have bought the 72. Also have a toothbar on my loader and for digging its a great set up. I just take it off for the winter and put it back on when spring rolls around. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have a cheap KK rear blade.

If I weret to get another, I would get a heavy duty one, with the ability to angle, tilt and offset.

I especially miss the ability to tilt the cheap one I have. Now I think I got good value for the dollar spent, and I am not complaining.

Still...the more adjustability the better in my opinion. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Only costs money, right??? /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Jim,

I'm not familiar with those models but as far as blades in general, I use my blade turned around backwards as much as forwards. (convex instead of concave) Its not as aggressive that way so its great for pushing snow off gravel and particularily good for spreading gravel. If you ever want to use one that way, pay attention to how the moldboard mounts to the vertical pivot shaft. Some mounts attach almost to the bottom of the back of the moldboard for maximum support but its in the way when using the blade backward.

<font color="green">If you are happy with your Midwest box I suggest you look at the Midwest rear blades. I have each and they are both of excellent quality and usability.

I have a 7' Midwest rear blade. Very fine quality and changing blade angles is a snap. Check them out, you won't be sorry.

The Midwest RB72-22 weight 304# will set you back approx $389
The Midwest RB84-22 weight 326# will set you back approx $419
Well worth looking at /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Prices could vary due to dealer and location

Weight is the key. IMHO, get as heavy a blade as is compatible with your tractor.
A heavy blade will last forever, and you will not bend it.

My tractor has a few more horses, since I use it for a farm, but the blade I use is over 1100 lbs. Cuts great, but it needs lots of power to pull it.

I am thinking of getting a Woods HBL84-2 rear blade. Does anyone have any experience with one? It costs a lot, but looks to be very will made. Thanks
