Yes I like the Midwest blades, but there is no dealer near Omaha Nebraska according to the web site. I bought the tractor with the implements from the previous owner in southern Indiana. If anyone knows otherwise about the Midwest dealers let me know.

thx

Jim,

I bought a Frontier standard duty RB1072 last fall, made by Woods. Weight is about 290# and it set me back $450 with tax from my JD dealer. Excellent heavy duty quality, sure I could have bought a KK for half the price but I would rather buy one good blade than two cheap ones. The $410 for the Woods you mention is a good price, and the six foot width is ideal for your 30 hp tractor. Just my 2 cents worth.

Stephen,

I have a Woods HBL-84 on my 3130. Excellent for cutting ground. You have to run it backwards when pushing snow or it cuts right through the snow, the gravel underneath and if you don't lift it when you see gravel mixing with the snow you'll start cutting and moving earth! I don't have the optional skid shoes or the tail wheel so I can't tell you how it performs with them.

If you are strictly looking for a snow blade, a lighter model might be more driveway friendly. Don't look at anything less than 7 foot for the 3130.

Good luck.

I have the woods Rb84. It tilts, angles, and you can offset it but not easily. (You have to unbolt the blade from the attachment point and use a different set of attachment points so it's a tool job and not something you can do too easily) The weight is good, it cuts into dirt well and I bought the skid shoes. If you want to plow snow you need the shoes. With the shoes I can plow right onto my lawn without tearing up the grass. This year I bought a high density polyethylene edge ($50) and put it in place of the metal cutting edge. It worked very well and once frozen, I can plow right onto the grass with less gap and still not tear things up too bad. 7 foot still allows me to rotate it 360 deg and plow backwards. Anymore and I wouldn't clear the rear wheels.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like it is what I want to get. I won't be using it much for snow, mostly for dirt and gravel, so it sounds good. Does anyone have any opinions on if it is worth getting the tail wheel or not? Thanks

Stephen

Jim,

Do you have any Kioti dealers nearby? I believe their Rear Blade is made by Midwest. There is a dealer locator on the website.

The dealer here just got into Kioti about a year ago. They are nice people but I stopped by there yesterday and they did not even have oil filters. They did admit that they were new at the Kioti stuff in Omaha. They have no implements.

I believe Midwest makes the blades that Corriher's sells. They are a sponsor of TBN. And I belive they sell them in several colors to match different brands of tractors.

I think the "orange color" is now reserved for Kioti dealers, but Midwest sells a gray/grey that matches the Kubota frame.
