2002 Kubota BX2200
Being a new tractor owner, I have a question. When I purchased my Kubota BX2200 I worked the deal real hard and was able to get the local dealer to give me a 42" rear cutter (Agri 42) it cuts very well, but I have a problem with one side or the other dragging the ground and leaving a dirt streak. Normally this would not be a problem, but when I am using the MMM the hydrualics controls Mid Mount and Rear Mount at the same time, so If I am tring to "finish mow" I have to remove the rear mount cutter so that it doesnt tear up the yard. It is a pain to have to take the rear mount on and off for the differnet types of cutting that I have to do. The BX2200 has a height adjustment but only on one side of the 3pt. How can I keep the rear cutter from dragging and still use the MMM?

jph,

The height adjustment on the one side of your 3ph is to level your implement. With the rear cutter hooked up, get on a level surface (preferably pavement or concrete) and use the adjustment to raise or lower that side to match the other exactly.

Then use your position control lever to raise or lower the 3ph to the desired height. Both sides should clear the ground by the same amount or if you have set your position control too low both sides should "dig in" an equal amount/w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif/w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif

Well, you could raise your cutter while you're finish mowing.
I'd take it off, though...just plan your mowing/cutting differently.
It shouldn't take more then a few minutes to install or remove a 3PH implement.

I think this is just another case indicating the benefits provided by "check chains". Essentially they hold both sides of the deck up, at a constant level and ensure the deck front always rides level with the tractor's rear wheels. Rig up your own or pick up a kit, you'll be glad you did.

Hmmm,,,a rear cutter and a MMM mounted at the same time?
And both controlled by the same hydraulic control?

" but when I am using the MMM the hydrualics controls Mid Mount and Rear Mount at the same time"

I don't see any way you could snychronize the location of the two mowers unless you put adjustable links on both sides of the 3pt arms, and even then it's questionable if you'd have enough adjustment for all conditions.

But why would you want a rough cut mower cutting behind a finish mower anyway? I say just take off the rear mower when you're finish cutting. And I wouldn't leave the MMM in place when I'm using the rear cutter either. I use the rear cutter for heavy stuff that would tear up a MMM.

I don't see how you can get the rear cutter off the ground when the MMM is on the ground if the hydraulics control both. Looks to me like you should only mount one mower at a time.

You must remove the rear cutter to use the MMM but you can lock the MMM in the up position and use the rear cutter--if that helps you out.
The dragging is a likely result of the top link not being adjusted correctly and the two pins being mounted on the cutter frame to high. Several threads have discussed this issue.
