rear end leaking a little

Hey guys,

Well I finally got some more hours on the tractor. Spent sunday mowing the lawn & clearing brush. Man is this thing a timesaver /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif. Toured my progress with the CFO. She was impressed! Hinted at needing/wanting to buy a landscape rake & how much easier it would be to clean up the brush & roots. She didn't have any noticable objections /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif.

Now for the bad news. It appears to be leaking a little oil /w3tcompact/icons/sad.gif from near the rear brakes (the round bolted on covers above each axle). It is enough to make a small puddle after a day. The odd thing is that both sides are leaking.

I will call the dealer this morning. Just wondering if anybody else has had this problem & what the solution was. I've been checking the trans/rear axle fluid level (dipstick on the "floor" of the tractor) regularly.

Had same thing happen to mine. They used a differant material for the new seals,been fine since and no other problems with the tractor [1 yr / 80 hrs.] dass

Thanks for the info. It's good to know it was a simple fix. I called the dealer & he is going to send a tech out.

Is your snowblower a front mount or rear mount? How do you like it? A snowblower is on my "wish list"

The blower is a Farm King -Meteor. Next addition will be a cab!!....HEATED, STEREO....THE WORKS ! Wish list. dass
