I added a rear flood light to my tractor last night. Picked it up at the dealer while I was getting my tire fixed. Speaker brand 50W halogen flood w/ replacable sealed beam. It even had a built in switch. Also had two wires, ground & hot. Nice if you are mounting to plastic. Cost $30

New holland ran a wire to the ROPS that is hot with the headlight switch. I picked up power there. Very nice because the headlight switch on comes on w/ the ignition. More idiot proof as far as running down the battery. Bolted the light on the rear part of the starboard fender.

The light Works great. Should come in very handy this winter when plowing snow with my rear blade. Only downside is that that part of the fender is plastic & pretty flimsy, The light vibrates a bit. Might need to reinforce it with some sheet metal.

I'll try to snap a pic this evening. My cheap-o dig camera doesn't have a flash.

New Holland makes a bracket to mount those lights right on the Rops. Here is a <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.tractorbynet.com/cgi-bin/compact/showflat.pl?Cat=&Board=custom&Number=114362&page=&view=&sb=&o=&vc=1>link</A> to a thread where I talked about installing my two auxilliary lights.

I'm sure I could have found a more desirable location for the lights but I didn't want to drill into the plastic on my TC33D.

Spencer,

Thanks for the info. I kind of remembered your post & asked the salesman about a New Holland light to fit the TC18. He said New Holland didn't make a light. I didn't ask for a bracket! This was more of an impulse buy while I was waiting for the tire to be fixed. If I had researched it better I would have printed out your pics to show the dealer.

Do you have a part number? I'm not sure if it will work on the class 1 boomer as my flashers are mounted differently than yours.

One benfit of my placement is it is below the folding ROPS/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif. I am concerned about the flimsy plastic.

To my knowledge NH does not make a light but they do supply the Speaker brand to be used on their tractors.

The bracket part number was 86531714 and cost me 16.50

Good Luck

Well I called my dealer. Spencer's part number is for the Class II Boomers. They did find one for my tractor.

SBA355761281 $9 delivered to my house (I think the shipping was as much as the part). Should be in on monday, I'll let you guys know how it works.

I mounted two lights on my fold down rops. This would work for any brand tractor. Here's a picture.

That looks like the same floodlight the dealer installed for me when I purchased it. Works great - alot of light. Is very durable and watertight. I only use it in the winter for snowblowing.

The dealer mounted it on my ROPS with a clamp; no drilling.
I can leave the ROPS down if I want alot of light in the back, and put the ROPS up when I want it in the front.

Since I have a front snowblower, I have it shining forward most of the time, so last winter I bought one of those rechargeable 1,000,000 candlepower floodlights and just bunge-corded it to the bottom of the ROPS; it burns out after 45 minutes of continuous on, but is great when I need it on for short periods of time when working with the back blade.

I did a similar install on my ClassIII Boomer. ( 2 ) lights forward and one centered pointing back. I drilled the top bar of the rops and welded a nut on at the point of connection. Just painted it and bolted them on. I snaked the wiring up through the rops tube and out through a grommet. I don't feel bad about drilling the cross bar, especially where I welded on nuts to re-inforce the drill points.

Folding function still works well. All the wires are in plastic wire loom for protection.

After purchasing my B7500 and finding the headlights of little value, I made up for it by installing three lights on my shade canopy. I put two medium width focused flood lights to the front for seeing where I am going and one wide angle flood light on the rear to watch my tools. It works really nicely when I am mowing at night, which is everytime I mow now.

On my 35d I took some 3" long pcs. of angle and drilled
2 7/16" holes thru one leg and 1 hole thru longer leg to
mount lite on.
Then drilled 5/16" holes and tapped 3/8-16 on outside of rops
above flasher lites I put on both sides.
This works for rops up or down.
Plugged connector into factory harness.
Lites are switched.

Attached is a collage of the lights I added to my TC25D. Two flood lights to the rear and 2 driving lights on the ROPS for use when using the FEL to plow snow. The switch in the lower left picture controls the upper lights. I placed the switch for the rear floods just beneath and to the right of the tool box, on the bar that runs between the ROPS uprights.
