Hi all,

I just did a lot of maintenance on my Ford 1210 4WD. It had sat for awhile so I changed all fluids and filters.

I never noticed this before, but when I raise the 3 pt, it comes up a little jerky. It's not real bad but not as smooth as going down. The only implement I have put on is the rear blade as I am getting ready for moving snow. It was still slightly jerky coming up.

Is this normal? Is there something I should check?

Thanks for the help.

It should not be jerky. I wounder if you have air traped in the tph cyl. I am assumeing you changed the hyd fluid and filter. Try lowering the arms all the way down and this might push the air out. Keep raising and lowering the tph to try to work the air out.

I did change the filter.

I will try raising and lowering it several times to see if it smooths out.

There really is no way or need to bleed a system like this is there?

I agree that there is probably air in the system. They are "self-bleeding" so the only way to do it is to cycle all the controls. Also make sure the filter is not loose and sucking air around the seal.
