Thanks for the pics, You should be a Woods salesman, cause I'm sold. The dealer's calling tomorrow and I think I am going to go with the same set up as you have. I know it will cost more, but I really don't want to be saying "I should have" when we have 2 feet of snow on the ground. I have a woods tiller and BB48 cutter, and I think they are as close to bomb proof as one could buy. Thanks again.....

Two words of caution on the Woods blower:

1 - Make sure the shear bolt in the drive shaft is the right hardness. Mine, and many others, came through with a grade 8 bolt when it should have been a 5. Stopped my tractor cold in its tracks first time I picked up a stone. There is actually a misprint in the specs and the drive shaft is 3rd party for Woods, I would imagine Woods has corrected it but check anyway.

2 - I've never figured how it could be used on a quick hitch with the lower pins facing inward. I don't have a quick hitch, but that is the reason why.

Other than that I love it. Good luck.

Pins in or out should not make a difference, as long as the spacing is OK. the top...well, we'll have to see. BUT, I will check the shear bolt. Thanks......

Check the inside spread on the Speeco, I think it is 27 1/2" to fit most Cat I implements and makes the outside spread close to 30". The inside spread on the SS-52 is 26 1/2". Too narrow to fit the hitch inside the arms to hit the pins. Even if you swapped the frame arms on the blower to face the pins out, that would be too wide at over 30". See the pics I sent you in the other thread you had. It appears the Speeco would line up to actually go inside the tube frame arms on the blower, but the pins seem too far inside and there is not enough room to drop the pins into the hooks on the Speeco.

I might be missing something. Let me know if I am! Anything can be made to fit with a torch and a little welding, I just don't feel like messing with it.

Brad

Well, Today I ordered the same set-up as you. It will cost more, but I really like the other woods impliments I have. I will worry about quick hitch when It arrives. Worst scenario, I take it off, that takes about 1/2 a minute...... What sold my was the hydraulic motor for chute rotation. looks very trouble free. Thanks for all the info......Maybe it won't even snow this winter:eek:

You'll be glad you went with the hydralic turn over the electric. It also gives you the option of running a tilt or hydraulic top link.

Just a note, I used the SS52 blower for the first time yesterday. Wow, was I surprised!!! I used to use a 84" lucknow on the back of a 60 horse tractor, and I can honestly say the 52 inch woods with my little TZ25 throws snow further! (The cab is warm too!). I did get the hydraulic chute like you recommended. Worth every penny! We're in line for the nor'easter comming this sat night. They predict 20-22" of the white stuff. I'm ready. Thanks for the pics and the advice......worth every penny!
