These are the pictures from the current male cables I have.

From the sizing chat. That was posted. I think they are the ISO 7241-1A and you were correct it is 1/2.

The link I posted earlier can you tell if it is the 7241-1A

NPTF Refers to Nation Pipe Thread Female, which is the type of thread in the body of the coupler. The easiest way to cross reference the coupler size and style is by taking the numbers off the sleeve of the female coupler, and either post them on this forum or google them. The numbers (and letters) will identify the coupler size and type, and will help you cross reference them to other manufacturers.

NPTF does not refer to the coupler type or size. That is just a hydraulic thread designation.

The pictures in your post are not ISO 7241-1B couplers. 1B couplers have a long lead section on the male tip.

Have a look at this picture. Its a great profile view of the 4 most common hydro quick connects that we would use, and their designations and compatibility.
Hydraulic Quick Connect types.jpg

The first one in the picture, the HT series flush face, is nice, as its easier to keep the faces clean and keep debris out of your system when hooking up. These are commonly found on skid steers, and are very durable. But they can be notoriously difficult to hook up, compared to other types.

For my tractor and equipment, I'm quite partial to the series A, as the poppet is more durable and leaks less over time than the agricultural style ball. That flat end on the poppet takes most of the beating over time, which saves the sealing surface. You can also get a series A version that has a small button on the poppet that allows for the relieve of residual pressure that makes hookups much easier. see part# VP8010-4P-DC, or click on this link Pioneer 1/2 in. Thanks everyone for you help, I got all the hose and couplers I needed.

One last question.

Do I need to put hydraulic fluid in the hose, or will the tractor be able to bleed the air out.

System will bleed air quickly by itself when you first use it, just creep on the joystick so the line fills up more slowly. If you slam wide open, right off, that hydraulic oil will be like a freight train, slamming into everything as it goes through. Its not always a problem, but best be on the easy side.
