Rear lights

Something else to remember is that you may not like the light shining over your head if you mount on the ROPS. I wear glasses and din't care for it all the time. I didn't like the arrangment on the 2150 with tracotr trapazoids. These small driving lights are better but I prefer to use the fogs mounted on the grill gaurd for general use. In the summer when you are cutting a pasture or something the lights on the ROPS will attract BUGS and they will be swarming around your head. Plus they might reflect in your glasses if you wear any. Hence my grill guard lights. I use the ROPS lights for loader work or when I need to illuminate the cab area or sides.

Just something else to consider.

Thanks guys, now I just need to find the time to get the lights mounted. My dealer said the same about drilling small (1/16th) in the ROP's, can't hurt it. I never thought about the glare in my glasses or the bugs, something the consider.

Joe,
You may want to look at another option. Northern Tool has a magnetic mount light that you could stick just about anywhere with a 55W halogen bulb. The only shortcoming is that it is set up for a cigarette lighter.
Should be no problem if you can find a power source plus you can use it anyplace around the tractor as it comes with a 12' cord.
Good luck

Dale, I took your advice on the magnetic lights from Northern Tool. I ordered them over the internet, they were delievered the next day and I was using them to plow snow that night! I put two of them on the ROPS and used zips to tie them down (just in case). I cut off the cigarette lighter, put one wire into the accessory light plug under the rear fender and the other wire under a bolt for ground. Couldn't have taken 10 minutes! I left enough wire so I could move the lights up front, to the sides or wherever I need them. Thanks.

Hmmm, makes me think about a coil cord...

Tom, are the Northern lights watertight? The info on thier web site was pretty sketchy. Thanks.

It's a utility light for outdoor use. It appears to be water tight in that the light casing is molded plastic. However, I didn't notice how the two wires come out of the bottom of the light. Might not want to plan on putting them upside down.

Rob, The coil cord sounds like a good idea. The base of the light is the magnet and is also covered in plastic so as not to scratch the surface it is placed. However, I noticed the magnet is not very strong therefore I used a zip on each one in case the vibration knocked it loose.

Hmmm... Magnets? Sticking things to tractors with them? Not strong enough????

Hey Harv!

We have a ChalkeyCup why not an AikenLight????

I checked out the northerntool.com website and did not find these lights. Do you have the part number? Am I at the right URL? Thanks Rich.
