3-Point Hitch Rear Mount Snowblower for low HP tractor

Thanks for the info! I really appreciate it.
Low Reverse with the PTO engaged is less than 1mph!
I’m ok with learning how to use a geared tractor/pto. I bought this old girl to have fun with and put to work.
I have a FEL and chains if needed.
It looks like I should lean towards a 50” blower.

I imagine that for most storms, 1 mph will be slow enough. When it isn’t, you can take small (partial width) bites with the blower to lessen the amount of snow being blown.
You can only do this after first pass has been made.
So make 1st pass where the drifts are low, or raise blower to take less snow. However you might have less traction, in addition to less steering, with a raised blower because now your driving in snow instead of cleared ground.

The PTO is 540 or 825rpm. I wonder if spinning it faster would help.....

I ran a 74" Farm King on a JD 4200, 26Hp, geared tranny. As long as it was cold, it handled the snow just fine. No matter how deep the snow was. But wet snow is a challenge for a blower in general.

My CUT has 3 PTO speeds, 540, 700 ish and 1000.
540 is useless, barely plops the snow off to the side.
I000 shakes everything but the 700ish works just fine, and going on some 18 years now.
Lining my chute with HD polyethylene sure helped the wet snow clogging issues.

Oh, the blower is 60 inches and a 3 bladed fan and the CUT is 20 HP and geared 3 speed/hi/low.
I only blow in low and VERY rarely HI.
It is a slow process but has worked for years for me.

OK, this spring I tore down the blower and did replaced all the bearings as they were VERY noisy.
Acceptable for all the years of usage IMHO.
All were simple 'off the shelf' and reasonable.

Not completed yet but I drilled all 3 fan blades to add rubber fan blade extensions., need to find some used conveyor material to complete that.

I'm off of a gravel road and the city often plows stones onto my drive so my blower has ingested more than I like and to the point that I had to straighten 2 bent fan blades. LOL, need to keep shear bolts on board at all times.
Not fun changing at 25 below!

Don't even ask about heavy wet snow! especially early events on ground that is not yet frozen.
Your vocabulary is not to be repeated.
