OK I'm a certified idiot. Gonna take off the bush hog today & think I got the 3-pt hitch understood but the PTO coupler is hidden by a plastic guard on the hog driveshaft so can't see how it decouples. Does it just pull & drop off like a car U-joint once the 3-pt is off? Supposed to be 'push pin' but DK what that is, manuals no help. Can't seem to get the plastic guard thing off to look at it. Thanks,

I am thinking the pin to push and unlock the coupler is beyond the plastic shroud where the driveshaft goes over the splines on the PTO.It almost looks like you can see it in the first photo.

Yes, that's the push pin. You just ahve to squeeze your hand in there, push the pin down, and pull the shaft back. The plastic guard can sometimes make reaching the coupler a challenge.

Some tractor models have a metal guard over the PTO that folds up out of the way (at least sort of;)). This might help you see the pin you need to push in. Then you can pull the shaft off. This includes the knuckle you see in the first picture. Make sure the PTO is completely disengaged before attempting. If in doubt, turn the tractor off.

As Jeff said, the B2320 has a hinged cover over the PTO shaft that allows you to access the release collar for the U-joint.

How's that machine handle the brush cutter, by the way?

Thanks guys. Over-thinking stuff lately + obviously new to tractor stuff. Run some but only worked on other machines. A better auto mechanic than me was also scratching his head on the coupler but maybe just heatstroke! My gosh this is simple stuff really...

It ran the 4' LP hog very well in my limited experience = before this only ran tractors in fields & ATV brushcutters in woods & a lot of the latter. This LP hog impressed me a lot & just kills my good tow-behind as far as power & maneuverability.

Went out & detached bushhog & attached back blade in about ten minutes. Easy once you try, thanks.
