I saw an add for a used mower that was a belly mower driven by the rear PTO.It was made by Continental.Does anyone have any information on it or something simular to it.Thanks
My brother has a Continential belly mower on an Allis CA and it is a good mower. I have been around this mower for 30 years, don't have any experience with the new stuff though.
If it looks like the one in THIS PHOTO I had one under my Yanmar. It was labeled as a YQM-60 (Yanmar QuickMount-60 inch), but I was told it was made by an outfit in TX who just stuck a Yanmar label on it. Wonderful machine, very stout for a finish mower. But then again it has to be, since you have to drive the tractor OVER it to mount/dismount. And it's PRICEY. A pair of belts is about $70, a blade set is well over $100, one blade bolt (1/2" left hand fine thread Grade 8) is eight bucks.
And unless you're mowing a billiard table, do NOT buy one without gauge wheels and an anti-scalp center roller.
