Hi Big Red,
I ran my 3 pt spliter off my loader curl function for years. The dealer that sold me the splitter sold me hose extensions with the appropriate fittings to connect at the loader quick attach. Bungee cord the loader lever to the steering and away you go. Only catch is the curl function for bucket is disabled and with the lever bungeed over the 3 pth arms don't mover either.
I bought a used backhoe from the same tractor model few years ago. The seller and local dealer set me up with another cool way to get aux hydro power. To power the hoe they made me a short hose with male coupling on one end and threaded on the other. This replaced my return line from loader block down to the tranny. That pugged into the female coupling on the tranny I replaced when removing the stock steel return line. The hoe is just plugged into the line with male and female couplings to make the circuit. Everything works as it should, power beyond!
I was thinking this winter how it would be nice if my splitter and bucket curl could work without switching lines. Yesterday I studied the situation.
Bought a female QC to replace one of the males as the QC matched the ones for the backhoe. Now I do the same with my splitter as the hoe. Break the QC lines from loader to tranny and connect the splitter in line. Now everything works as it should as needed.
Keep in mind you must know the direction of flow or the splitter will run opposite.
