Kubota B3030
Hi.
I am a new owner of a b3030 with FEL and MMM. I was interested in buying this 200 gal liquid sprayer from a farmer down the road so I can fertilize. I noticed the sprayer usually hooks to a much larger ag tractor that has rear hydraulic inputs. Can I hook this type of sprayer to my machine? Is that what a rear remote is? What controls the rear hyraulics? Do I need another valve to control rear hydraulics?
Thanks,
Mace...

A rear remote is a hydraulic connection on the rear of your tractor that is used to control implements that require hydraulics.

You can order a rear remote from Kubota that integrates nicely into your tractor. It is pricey but it has that "built-in" look and it uses a lever that goes into the blank place on the right fender.

You can also purchase your own valve and plumbing and roll your own. It will be cheaper but will not have that "built-in" look.

If you are not familiar with hydraulics then I recommend the Kubota setup.

You don't mention exactly how it "hooks" - I'll take a shot and say it might be a 3 point attachment. If that's the case keep it's possible the pins are larger than the Cat 1 pins on your B3030 - you may need bushings to adapt it to your tractor.

Also remember that water weighs roughly 8 lbs per gallon ... a full spray tank would be over 1600 lbs just for the contents, not counting the sprayer itself .... plan on leaving the FEL attached as a counterweight.

I'd be sure you have the HP to run the sprayer first.

On my L4400, the remote hooks onto the upper part of the transmission/differential, just under the right side of the driver's seat.

I think it cost $600 to have it installed. Big bucks. I use mine for a pull type mower that has a ram for adjusting mower height. As it turns out, I don't use the mower much and the remote gets very little use. But, I guess it might help the resale value some day.

The primary reason a relatively small sprayer (200 gal) may require remote hydraulics on the tractor is that the sprayer pump is hydraulic driven. You will need to check the pressure and flow requirements for the hydraulic sprayer pump and then determine if your tractor has the necessary hydraulic output to operate this pump.

If the sprayer is a 3pt type and it is cat II, it will be difficult to attach to your cat I tractor. I have a 3 pt 60 gal sprayer on my Kubota L3430. I wouldn't go larger. 200 gal on the 3 pt would be much too large for a B3030 IMO.

The remote on the L4400 attaches to a hydraulic block on the transmission especially designed for Kubota remote valves. Hence the high price. I do not know of any adapters that are available for this block which would allow you to roll your own setup.

could you post or email me a pic of the rear remote setup under your L4400 seat?

I will but my tractor resides about an hour from home and it will be next weekend before I get back down there.

I'll also mention that an o-ring on this assembly blew out or was installed improperly and resulted in a trip back to the dealer. But its fine now.
