Rear Remotes for a front grapple?

/ Rear Remotes for a front grapple? #21
Hi J_J, can I use this instead of 3rd function auxiliary or is this a 3rd function? I wanted to get a grapple and I don't have rear remotes. I wanted to tap into my power beyond and then into the solenoid and then out?

The valve from Balaileynet, is a switching valve, otherwise, it switched between two hyd circuits, and sometimes called a diverter valve. It is installed in the curl circuit of the loader valve.

A 3rd function valve switches on or off at full flow. and can be installed anywhere in the series flow path.

J_J According to my NH manual, here are the hydraulic specs. Pump capacity is 9.8 gpm for hydraulic lift system, and steering pump flow is 5.13 gpm @ rated rpm. Now, are the two separate, or do you combine the total of both? The valve you suggest looks to be normally closed on either side until you activate one or the other solenoids. I understand that to mean you would have to have a 3 position rocker switch that would operate either circuit, with the center being the common 12v feed, and would operate depending on which way you pushed it from center. I can see its quite a bit less expensive than the one the tech at SC chose. He said that the valve he chose was normally open on one side, and when you activate the pushbutton switch it would close that side and open the other. If you ran the curl circuit thru the normally open ported side, and the grapple thru the normally closed side, you would only have to have a spst switch to operate the grapple circuit.Hence what I had explained earlier what he told me. Now, I'm not sure about the hose fitting size on the lines on my loader, but if they are SAE 8, then the valve he chose wouldn't work without using some kind of adapters for the fittings. Those two valves from SC look close to being the same, but operate differently. The one you show is also a 15 GPM valve.Your thoughts?

I don't see a problem with the valve switching.

You either have the switch in circuit 1 or circuit 2.

I have seen switches where one side is locked on, and the other is momentary.

I would wire it so the curl is position 1, and the grapple is position 2.

Just leave the switch in circuit 1 until you need the grapple. There is no need to use the off/center position.

They warn about switching with fluid flowing, but there is no fluid in the valve until you move the joystick lever

Surplus quit stocking the valve that everyone was using. It defaulted to the curl circuit with no voltage.

If you get tired of researching this stuff, I can walk you through the process so that you have a complete custom system for your tractor.

True 3rd function shipped to your door. $684

Diverter type 3rd function shipped to your door. $649

I have the diverter systems on both my CUT and UT machines. ;)
