Rear remotes on my ck27

My ck25 remote is easy to feather. Not so rays to get out of detent. So I try not to push it that far. Funny it isn't not hard to get out of detent when the backhoe is on

For a side link? Or a top link? Or some other hydraulic?

Just curious. :confused3:

Top link. No check valve.

My DK does not have a float position on the rear remotes.
I don't know about the CK models. But I doubt it has float.

I just had a second set of remotes added to my CK30. I now have the original remote with no float, and one beside it that does have float. What in the world would I ever use a float function for? Not tying to hijack the thread, but float was mentioned here, so just thought I'd ask.

Not hijacking. I already have my HTL installed.
I don't understand float either.

Chris, I don't think the CK models have a float option for the second remote valve if you were install it. It doesn't show up on the Bobcat side as an option and I have both remotes & no float in the second. One thing I did find on the CKs versus the DK is the remote valve handles are short and lower down below the seat, this makes them a little more difficult to feather the handle. I haven't got the finished product yet so no picture but have extended the handle and makes control of the top link much easier. The lever is 8mm (5/16") rod, use a piece of tubing to slide over the existing rod for a coupler and about 6" of solid rod to slide in that tube to make the handle 6" longer. You could make it any length you want but I'm putting mine about lever with the seat cushion.

When using the float position with one of the top and tilt hydraulic cylinders, here are a few things that people will do.

With the top link they put it in float mode so that they can pull or push the ram to where it needs to be to hook up the link to the implement. Not a big deal, but there are people that feel it is much easier than having to go back and use the lever to get it extended just right.

With the side link when you are grading there are times-situations where to get the desired result about the only way to get that result is to use float mode. Again, not a HUGE deal, but very nice to have when you need it. Just makes the finished job that much better & easier to obtain.

Hope that explains it somewhat. ;)

Thanks, yes that does make sense, on both parts, especially connecting the top link.

Dennis, you may be right, but mine is clearly labelled with float, I'm sure because I sat in my seat confused looking at it for a while trying to figure out what you'd do with it

I don't know what is what as far as options go for the rear remotes. But I would guess that the remote with float is an option. A lot of things are available with all these tractors (all makes) that are not listed anywhere for the retail customer to know that it is even an option  and many dealers are simply to lazy to even look if asked. :(

There are many people that think that there is no good reason to have float on the side link. But there must be, or why would many manufacturers such as John Deere and Kubota have slots on the bottom clevis of the side link? The draft arm can be locked in place on the clevis or put in float mode that allows the draft arm to float up and down within the clevis.

There are purposes for all of these things, or they would not be offered at all. ;)
