These tires are 16x44 with a 3" R4 tread glued on, they're about 50" in diameter.

I've used airplane tires on the front of my old Fordson-Dexta with great success. I was having flats with 15-20 thorns in my tires every morning. I put on a pair of the 18 ply airplane recaps, and problem solved. It didn't really matter whether I had air in those tires or not.

If I did have problems though, 24 ply tires were available too. Price was ~$85 each, mounted including rims.
