For you guys with cabs and rear snowbowers. Do you need a rear wiper if your cab has the rear defrosters on the glass? If I need to put one one I would like to do it now so I don't forget about it, before next winter snow.

I have to use one with a front blower!!!!!!!!!

I have a front blower also, and though I could probably live without my rear wiper, it sure makes life easier. I actually added my rear wiper myself, after I bought the tractor without one. For the relatively short money they cost...... I'd call it money well spent.

I have a cab and rear blower and defrosters and wiper and depending on the conditions it can really come in handy. I would go with it myself. With that amount of investment in a tractor like that I would definitely do it. You may not need it for 3 out of 4 storms but those other 1 in 4 you will be thanking yourself for doing it.

Hi,
A rear wiper may not be a necessity, but it sure is nice when you need it. I installed one I purchased at a marine shop, cost $85 and $20 for arm and wiper. Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't hesitate to go with a manual one, they're quite common on boats.

With my rear blower I find that I need it most times if it is a bit windy as flying snow always finds its way on the window.
The front wiper is rarely used but I still would not be without it, especially during rain or snow storms. After all you do need to see where you are going. It is a safety issue and in fact I would believe it is highway code as well.

Does anyone else have a problem with wiper blades? I swear they just don't last on my BH. Every time I turn on the wiper the rubber is shot so I can't use it. Maybe it's because they are more of a time thing than use and since I rarely use them they are several years old when they die.

Most wiper rubber is only good for 6 months to a year whether you use them or not. UV rays and weather wear them out.

I would speculate that it would be absolutely required. I get pelted with snow continuously when I run my 3pt blower (no cab...I have cab envy though), and snow will stick to the windshield - a warm windshield would make it stick be even worse. I have a front blower on my lawn tractor and a cab that I made - it does not have a wiper and I usually have to get off a couple of times each use to wipe down the outside of the windshield with my hand.

i have a Kioti with the rear wiper. while i dont have a rear snowblower, i will be purchasing a front loader mounted snowblower. wasnt sure if i needed the rear wiper, but it comes standard on my tractor. I ws out pushing slush last week in the rain, and the rear wiper was very handy. alot of crud gets splashed up plus the rain made seeing out the window difficult. wiper with wash fluid was real nice.

I couldn't work without one on my tractor. I don't care how careful you are, invariably, snow or rain or slush will block your view.

I've got a rear blower and heated cab. Depending on which way the wind blows, you be assured you'll get snow on a warm window - and then it melts and then you can't see.

Yep, the rear wiper works great and wouldn't want to be without it.
