I am making general inquiries on a Wood BH600 as I had heard some guys are getting them for $4k. I called locally in Canada and he is quoting me about $6k, so I called over the border to ND and he is even higher at $6.6k. What's a fair price? Those who bought at $4k for a BX, where'd ya get it? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I purchased my Woods BH6000 in Feb 2005 from Goldstein's in Westport, MA. I paid $4800 installed. I can't imagine the price has increased that much in 8 months.

Price differences are an interesting thing. I just talked to my dealer today because I'm considering either adding the BH6000 or upgrading to a bx23 or bx24 in the spring. His quote on the 6000 was about 5800 -- he's in Maryland. I also think depending on your dealer's break price and how far he goes for you will depend on the deal. There's no question, some members get some pretty amazing deals.

given the discounts on the BX23 its probably only going to be marginly more expensive to trade up to that model.

Without crunching numbers, I don't think $4,000 is possible.

Thats actually what I'm hoping to do. My dealer is talking up the bx24 -- says he's checked it out at the show and is very excited about it (of course he does want to sell one /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif ). But the price he's quoting for the 23 and 24 are very similar which is around 16800. He says the 23 will be a little lower but its not the kind of deal I'm all that excited about. Things will probably change in the spring so it'll be a game of wait and see.

I stoped in at my Dealer's in New Hampshire to get filters etc. for my BX2200 and they had a half dozen or so sitting there. He quoted my $5100 installed. Too rich for my blood right now considering how much I'd really use it. Still... it never hurts to look and dream! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

So I took the liberty of emailing Woods in Illinois and, mentioning they don't sell facory direct, list in Canada for the BH6000 is $8180 (current exchange is $6951)! Yikes /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Thats the $6000 I am being quoted locally at current exchange. For me to truck something up, pay taxes and brokerage fees, even if I got one at $4k US, I wouldn't really be winning. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Bought mine in March of '05 for $3899. from Lawn Care Equipment Center in Martindale Pa. 1.717.445.4541. Installed it D.I.Y.Again very pleased with operation of the BH6000. Like any other add on hydraulic device there will be more hdyraulic fittings to tend to on a "maintenance" level. They all leak sometimes... usually due to a loose fitting that will be in the hardest to reach spot /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif Thermal expansion and contraction along with high pressure stresses cause them to back off a little occasionally. When changing implements keep a rag handy to catch the table spoon of oil that spills every time you undo a hydraulic quick connect hose fitting (put it right under the quick connect as you undo the fitting) Another reason to keep that extra gallon of hydro. fluid around.
Does any one want to sell thier narrow Gannon 9" bucket? I sure could use one for narrow trenching.

I purchased a BH6000 with my new J.D. 2305 2 weeks ago. The price was $4000 delivered but not installed. I will do the install myself when the new bracket kit is finished from Woods. The price was only good with the entire tractor deal. I don't know the regular price.
