Rebuilding hydraulic cylinders

   / Rebuilding hydraulic cylinders #11
I find the gland nuts unscrew really hard and have even broken the tool to remove them once. My friend with a sprinkler shop has a 4' aluminum pipe wrench that has gotten the job done more than once.

I used a pipe wrench with a four foot aluminum pipe slipped over it for the gland nut. I left the rod end on the FEL to hold it. Didn't need a vice which could damage the steel shaft if you're not careful.
