Rebuilt Farmall Cub has Fire but won't start

yes the plugs getting gas the funny thing is it wont fire from eithier i wondewr is it the ethnol in the gass is my problem u know this tractors didnt have ethnol running in there days

As a mechanic you understand that the plugs should not be wet. If they are wet why would that be?

i know in the pass most of these cubs allways leaked a little out of the weep hole under the carb so thats not worrying me that bad but it shouldnt leak at all its a new carb actually its the second one the other one did the same i wish oi could have used the orginal one i rather rebuild them then buy a after market one

Older engines had very weak fire. This made them very easy to flood. Once the plugs get wet they don't have strong enough spark to fire thru it. Many times I've taken out the plugs and dried them. I've also unscrewed them, lay them over the hole with the plug wire on, turn engine over and let the plug ignite the fumes to dry out the compression chamber.

I would choke the carb as a last resort. Still sounds flooded.

Hoping cub ownere will see this and offer suggestions.

I would dry everything and start over. Trying to start it as lean as possible. Slowly adding fuel until it started or flooded.

If it floods without attempting to start then we'll look elsewhere for the problem.

Are the spark plugs new?
