Welding that big of a hole and drilling sounds good but no worky . You are going to smoke very expensive drill bits . Good luck .

I got in touch with a company that can get Amerequip parts, but I am worried this is too far gone. Ill assess better when I am back home in a couple weeks.

First reaction is that the tach cable broke a while ago and they left it broken to save hours on the meter.
That happened on mine, which is a 42, the hour meter is in fact a revs counter that approximates hours when run at PTO speed.

My guess is that the loader has been used quite heavily and rarely/never been greased.
If true you hay have some bushing replacements ahead of you and I really DON'T know how DIY practical that would be.
I tend to try threaded rod, nuts large sockets and sometimes HEAT to pull out bushings and pull the new ones back in.
I haven't done it on the Humpolec loader though - I have tried to keep up with the grease gun rounds instead.

Buying a Sunbelt Rental with a broken hour meter can't be good. Buying a commercial grade piece of construction equipment (mini-excavator, forklift, man lift) from a rental company doesn't bother me, but when you take a consumer grade CUT of any brand and put it into a rental fleet, it gets a lot of wear and tear. You bought a relatively high hour machine. With repairs, it will still do a lot of work for you and should last for years, but I am very uncomfortable if it was truly misrepresented. Of course the big rental decal wasn't hidden from you in the pictures I suppose. Not picking on you, but that should have raised some flags.

A low hour fully serviced machine for $22k would be a good buy with that backhoe. That's close to 30% off a brand new 4720 TLB.

If you are good with your current arrangement and the dealer has made things right, good for you. Move on and enjoy, life is short. I'm very forgiving of errors and always give folks a chance to make things right. But from just your side of the story, which I have no reason to doubt, I'd be asking the dealer to send a truck and overnight a check back to me. Mistakes we can fix, blatant misrepresentations we can't. If you are able to let this go and get on with life, you are a better man than most.

FWIW, I had a 40' JLG Manlift on lease for over a year from Sunbelt, NEVER ever had a service guy show up with so much as a greasey rag during the whole lease! They buy new, service it if it breaks, then off to the sale! I guess that thier accountant's figure that brand new chit will last a good long (enough) time without any maint. to return decent $'s at a sale with the buyer's assumption of good "fleet maintenence".

I had no idea either were prior rentals, only the hoe had a sticker on it when it showed up, which was a shock.

The swing cylinder bushings and weldment are extremely worn, they rest isn't loose at all, and still seems strong.

Not what I was expecting by any means, but the tractor is working now after I took care of some minor issues, so hopefully it'll last awhile.
