The 4300 is equipped with an intake air heater system. See page 22 of Operator's manual.

Activate the system by pushing in on the key switch.

above 0F: hold key in for 10-15 seconds.
0F to -10F: hold key in for 30 seconds.
below -10F: hold key in for 45 seconds.

Start engine. If it runs rough, activate the system by pushing in the key switch until engine runs smoothly.
Intake heater for combustion air. A little different than hearing the engine block.

For small engines In cold climates there are three basic heating methods. Block heater, in line heater or a tarp and a small fan aided heater. If no electricity available a pan of hot ashes will work.

In cold climates you will find that the magnetic oil pan heaters or the dipstick heaters do not perform well. Battery blanket heaters do help.

Larger equipment has much more sophisticted

heating equipment.

You can also put a flood light to shine on your oil
pan as this will heat the oil
I like simple things like installing a heater in the
heater hose, cut heater hose install hose heater
install the two hose clamps done! Just plug it in
when needed!
