If it makes you feel better, either of the JD products would pull any of the other choices around like no issue. One reason I went back to JD (besides my dealer connection) was the Gator's ability to safely and effectively position my 2600# 22' tandem utility trailer on my property. I live in a gated community in the mountains. We have some property and I have carved out a secluded place to keep my trailers when not in use to avoid seeing them from the house (not that big a deal to me but it is to my wife). It is too tight to maneuver my pickup into this spot so I use the UTV to do so. I do not pull far. The Ranger could pull the trailer on flat, but not up the hill hardly at all. The Gators, but my diesel and now even better my gasoline one, can pull it without any sweat easily passing the area where the Ranger is digging holes trying to move the trailers. The difference here is notable and also in plowing snow as well. Combine this performance with now equivalent off road ability and the choice became pretty easy. I am sure in sand or soft mud, where increased weight hurts the performance more the Ranger would be a much better performer, but I am rarely in those situations.
