Where do you get your polyurea grease? I googled it and got some strange-looking outlets. Obviously the Deere dealer carries it.

I got the polyurea grease at a John Deere dealer for $3.90 a tube. I plan to only use the Deere grease because their sales info says it's compatible with most other greases. Since I would guess it was compatible with ALL of their greases, I'm OK with that.

In the olden days of 10 or so years ago, most all polyurea was NOT compatible with other greases and, for those reasons was widely avoided by guys like us. We must have leaped a technological hurdle or something.

Yes, I posted earlier (as did some others) that the modern polyurea thickeners are 'complexes' that are stable, unlike the earlier, cheaper noncomplex type. So these don't mix or react with other types like lithium, they remain stable.

Not sure which way I will go yet - will read some more. Nice to know the option is available.

I too started down the road of investigating the different greases, but got to thinking that it would be unusual for a manufacturer to not recommend their best grease for the application. I checked all my JD manuals and Polyurea is the preferred grease and what is shipped from the factory. I figure if you care enough to research grease then you are likely to use it more than most folks and that puts you ahead of the game.

I've been using the JD polyurea grease for about 12 years now. It has never let me down. I like the fact that it stays pliable in the coldest weather, and that it doesn't tend to dry out and turn to clay after a while. I use it on all my machines.

My new non-JD chipper makes some remark about incompatibility with polyurea but assume the JD is compatible with lithium. If anything if I switch to PU I will just replace what is there and move on. What is the latest info.

In a generic sense, polyurea greases may not be compatible with other greases. JD polyurea, however is compatible with other JD greases such as lithium and moly so stay with JD grease and no problem..
