Hey, that's nothing, at least there might be some benefit in adding more paint (probably not much)
In my state (Washington) the highway department, where they made a cut through a hillside, actually PAINTED the rocks so they would look "old" and "natural". A little bit of flack over that. It's easy to get away with being STUPID when it isn't your money and you have an endless supply.
Last Tuesday we passed a 1% max cap (+inflation I think) on property taxes. Before that it was 6%!
Previous year we made all car licensing about $30 (which I actually think is to little). Previously based on value, a new Chev truck could be $500+
All kinds of doom and gloomers saying we were destroying ourselves, somehow we are still here. Of course every possible problem was blamed on the vehicle tax cut. Now everything will be blamed on the property tax cut. We still have the option of voting on any increases or bonds for schools, fire protection etc.
The county hires a company to do tree cutting on road right of ways, the power company hires them to limb trees. Yesterday I left at 11am, the guys were sitting in their trucks, went for a walk at 1pm, they were still sitting or lying in their trucks. One of those huge trailer towed grinders, boom truck. I could have done the hole friggin street by myself in that time.
Previous year county brought out a brand new Cat 312 excavator, dump truck, about 4-6 guys on our dead end road with no traffic. Set up signs etc, dorked around all day cleaning out a 100 foot ditch. I would love to have been paid all that money to do it with my Kubota!
Have you noticed all the internet news on people being laid off? Every hear that a city county state is laying off people. Not hardly.
That's the nice thing about having a good union I guess, you can't be fired no matter what a lazy piece of _ _ _ _ you are.
Well; all done griping...
It's SUNNY IN SEATTLE! Where are my tractor keys?
