recycled aluminum awning for pool mechanics

I've been looking for a used aluminum awning to protect my pool mechanics from the weather (sun mostly). I finally found one. Awning is 8 x 16'. Total cost of project $170. $100 awning $70 for some PT wood and fasteners.

I'll bet it was fun drilling those postholes right up against the existing fence. nice project.

Had to hand dig the post holes. Too much buried in the area: electric, water pipes, propane line. Wasn't too bad. Been a warm winter and the ground is soft. I need the exercise too.

Thought about attaching it to the fence, but the fence isn't all that strong. Decided better to make separate.
