It used to be available in this area, but now they recycle it as they put a new layer down.

It can be had here, but it's expensive to get. They used to use a bit of it back in the new mix, but now most just lays in large piles with weeds growing on it.

I would advise running up and down it with a magnet.. we used some before and had several flat tires shortly after.

Awesome! Thanks for the tip. I will definitely wait until it is warmer for another layer.

Use lots of water Luke. You will be amazed at how much tighter it binds.

I'm not a fan of pavement killings. It's usually torn out because its worn out & has greatly reduced binding ability left. Unfortunately it has enough binders left that parts turn solid enough you cant work them with a blade. Other parts fall apart & need maintnance, but you cant effectively work it because of the solid parts.

Personally I've been getting recycled concrete from a neighbor with a semi. It packs in tight with mixed aggregate size. Some issues with metal bits & trash. But the price & performance of the material works out.

My town in Western NY put some down by my mailbox and in a driveway area when they installed a new culvert. I don't like it and my wife likes it even less. It breaks up when you turn your tires entering the driveway. Trucks tear it up real bad when turning. It gets tracked into the house every time you walk out to get the mail. The material is ground too fine and seems to stick to the soles of your shoes. Your material may be different.

You could get it for free if they were resurfacing a highway nearby. I wouldn't touch it, because you can't rework it. If it is finely ground up, mixed with fresh tar, heated and installed on a properly prepared road bed, using paving equipment, then fine, but that's not the case.

In my way of thinking, the product can't be worth much, if they are giving it away for free.

Nice. The resurfacing and the maintenance of the driveways and the roads are important for the smooth and safe driving. There are many benefits of driveway paving. It resists the entry of mud and dust in the house, it increases the life of driveways and others. The choice of the materials should be good to do the quality work. Therefore the selection of the contractor should be good who has experience in the field of construction.
