Very nice find. What are your intended uses?? I have plans to adapt a row of straight industrial brushes for mud on my driveway /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

If women don't find you handsome they should at least find you handy.

Nice job. I guess it could be turned in reverse if you wanted it that way by reversing the hoses, or by adding an electric selector valve.

Barry,

Yesterday, I swept my drive and our church parking lot to remove construction dirt. I plan to use it for light snow in the winter, to move leaves around in the fall, and the manual mentions thatching.

Very nice, I'll bet it does a great job with light snow.

Great conversion job Dale! Maybe I'll catch a better glimps of it sometime when I drive by your way, not too often lately though.

I can't see it being the right tool for my gravel driveway, but it sure looks awesome on yours. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

PBS switched towers or something a few years ago, and I haven't been able to catch a RedGreen fix since. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif My wife never understood the show, but I think that's half the alure! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Might be a poor comparison, but if my power-rake is any indication:
Reverse is used less then 5% of the "rotating" time, but almost every time I use it. It sure is handy for pulling stuff away instead of toward a building, finishing a "strip" of work, etc.

Of course, while your at it Dale, that thing would sure look sweet with a powered angle control. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Hmmmmmm /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif it seems like just yesterday, I tried to sell another green guy [I'd link the thread, but search has been a bit slow for me yet] on that combination........ /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If you'll be using it on a driveway, and can set it up for power angle, you'll likely be glad you did. In fact, many Sweepster brand power brooms are angled to begin with -- they have a whole product line of them...

JJ

I don't believed I would want the sweeper turning toward me. The sweeper throws much more debris much farther than my stump grinder. In fact, I had to give it a bath yesterday after the trial run.

Chad,

According to the parts manual the company does offer a hydraulic lift cylinder, not needed, and a angle hydraulic cylinder. I emailed the company about the cost of replacement brushes and they responded promptly. The answer was $140 for poly and wire. I will send them an email today to check the price of a cylinder.

The cylinder connections are in place so it would be easy if the price is right. The manual angle is very easy. Pull one pin and push.

The reference to the RedGreen show made me think:

With some Power-Tracs being RED and some GREEN, are we missing an opportunity for great humor? If Red were trying to build a small tractor, he would probably come up with a Power-Trac. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

LOL... mine even has duct tape holding the fire extinguisher mounting brackets to the ROPS post... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have my fire extinguisher mounted on the back of the seat where it doesn't block my view.
