If I were there I would load up. You know they don't teach their salespeople anything about any oil. They can't elaborate on any kind of oil in Corinth Mississippi, other than I like or use this one and then they have no base for their thoughts. It's a shame, all these products and all the sales people can do is lay them on the ccounter and ring em up. I got so flustrated I thought about emailing Advance Auto and telling them how nice it would be to have someone that understood what's under the hood selling me my parts. I like these boys and they would help if they could but here lately I leave the store very flustrated........teddy

The retail discount auto parts business is very competitive, and they can't afford to hire mechanics or more knowledgeable sales people. What you see is what you get for minimum wage. Same with lots of other retail and service businesses. That's why I still don't take my cars to a quick-lube place for oil changes.

Ken you could use a 10w-30, SAE 30, 15w-40 or 5w-30 as long as it is rated for diesel. I personally would just select a oil that has a Kinematic Viscosity @ 100°C, over 11 cSt.

Mike, you are the one who sold me on this higher grade oil. Amsoil is not on the shelf anywhere here and Redline is so I will use the redline, with the extended drains. Also when I drain the Super udt I am going to keep it clean, have a test run and if it is still good save it and put it back in. Takes a lot for this 4330 and is expensive.Any thoughts let me know. And I think the Water Wetter Redline sells sounds impressive, any thoughts on that? thank you teddy

so far the “water wetter” is just an additive. All the benefits it does is the same as a coolant fluid change. For the $9 in price, that is 60% of a nice EG coolant. It does not look like anything you need. Use a good EG coolant and RO/DI water, or Distilled if you do not have RO/DI, and you are set to go.

UDT is a approximately $10/gal, Super is $14 and Chevron THF AW 100% synthetic is $12. I'm going Chevron for my 400 hour in my L3830. Manual calls for about 11.5 gallons, you will not get more then 10 in there.

I went at Advance Auto today to get some Redline 10W-30. It's on sale for $5.95 a quart. I had to order a case, as they didn't have enough in stock. The salesman told me that they were going to discontinue carrying Redline. I should have asked him if it is that store only or all of Advance Auto stores. I'll ask tomorrow if I can find a knowledgeable salesperson.
