We all know you'll never please /convice all of the people all of the time ....and who cares. I don't think that is your motivation.
I'll be interested in seeing your observations from this.

I've been very happy with OilGuard. The tests are $9 - $10ea when you buy them in a 6 pack.

Some of the other low priced test companies don't give you a TBN number, (how good is the addtive package holding up?) OilGuard does.

I'm a fairly recent synthetic convert. Based on used oil analysis I've gone from 3000 mile changes with Dino to 7500 mile changes with syn, getting better gas mileage and easier cold starts, (this am it was -16). For me the syn is cheaper and I'm doing much fewer oil changes and generating less hazardous waste.

I'm using MobileOne 0W30 in the gas engines and rotella syn 5W40 in the diesels.
