Nat,

The reason we get all that snow and people live here is to kill the bugs. A Few mosquitos and black flies in the spring but really not a whole lot of insects to be sprayed. That sounds like a good reason...Have to find some excuse to still live here....Actually I enjoy the winters up here. You kind of climatize yourself to them. Kind of tough skiing and snowmobiling in N.C. Then the wife lets you get a tractor to clear the snow because as you start getting older the bones get sore and you tell her you can't pull the rope on the snowblower...Things work out......

Frank,

Not looking too bad out there yet. Hopefully we don't lose power once again. I think we're in for a snowy winter....

"Red sky in the mornin' sailor's take warning, red sky at night is a sailor's delight" is how it goes I think. Our weather up here usually travels east/west and it was actually pink outside this morning with the heavy frost on the ground. It was very pretty. Didn't last long though, we're suppose to get hit tonight with wind and rain.

Steve

P.S. I like the snow, it's fun to push around.

Another problem could be that the trees could just get blown over with the saturated ground and 55+ gusts. There sure are a lot of big hanging limbs on a lot of trees after the last bout. The ground feels like walking on a sponge its so wet. We'll just have to wait and see I guess....

Thats what made the scenario strange. It was a Very Red sky In The MORNING. Red sky at night makes for a beautiful sunset but this one was downright frightening...

Nice colors. I never saw sunrises in my earlier years, unless I was in a deer stand, but now, getting well into my 50's, I tend to wake up earlier (and go to bed similarly), so have been enjoying more sunrises while I sip coffee and peruse the newspaper. Not bad - guess each age has its' small rewards.
