His rigging is scary but the idea is ok. I have a 10' box tube designed to mount on my massey bucket and I have a Husky saw that bolts to the top
end. I run a light rope from a trigger bracket to run the throttle from the tractor. Works great to trim high branches. BUT 2 things, 1 do not cut up on a branch or you bind the blade 12 feet up, and you have to tape the chain brake or it will be locking up all the time.

I heard the saw, I saw the tree, but I did not see the saw, saw the tree. What did you see?

I think I saw his nextdoor neighbor running for cover. (Or maybe he was going for a gun). :D

the (not so bright) bucket-ladder-saw rigging aside it would have worked better if he had hooked the saw to the BOTTOM side of the ladder, it looked like the ladder was hitting and not letting the chainsaw hit the wood.

I do alot of dangerous things, I'll go out on a limb so to speak.
Things I would not dare to share on this safety conscious site, so I'm really surprised some of you think this is OK! Only if he did this or that different.

That is the definition of DUMB and DANGEROUS!!! Should be a picture of that in the dictionary under those 2 words.

All it will take is an accident and a lawsuit, then all ladders and chainsaws will have to have one of those labels with the stick figure guy with a saw stuck in his skull after it fell from a ladder 20' in the air!!! warning you not to do that.

Reminds me of the story of the 2 guys holding a gas powered lawn mower by the 4 wheels trimming a hedge 5 feet off the ground.

They stopped the film about 1 sec short. It didn't show the saw coming off or the ladder folding up.
Some of you guys have seen this before, I had it on another site.
The saw is electric. The pole is about 8 to 10 feet, and I can tell you if you just turn your wheel a little it well move that saw a lot!!!!
The base plate is spring loaded side to side and on the down pressure. If it wasn't it would brake it right off.....been there.
After I done the base plate it works very will and real safe. There are 2 Co. making them now and if you search you well see they are new Co. started after the date on my pictures.
