When I was at Wally World last week (sorry, been away from a computer, not really but not where I could get on TBN) I saw they had a sign posted about a recall on the Reese Converta Balls. I read the details but more than 10 minutes have passed since then so I don't remember what is being recalled. I looked on Reese's website for info but couldn't find any. I know some of you guys are running these convertable balls so I thought I would let you know so that you can at least do some additional research, wouldn't want anybody getting hurt because I knew something and didn't share it. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I just did a quick search on the Consumer Product Safety Commission website and didn’t find anything. I’d sure like to know if this is true as I’m sure my brother has one of those Reese changeable balls.

I just bought one this morning, but it was not a Reese. Says it is "The Original Convert-a-ball" made in Sidney, Nebraska.

I found a Reese recall but it is two years old.

I got a Convert-a-ball at TSC with 1 7/8, 2 & 2 5/16 balls and just love it. It works great and has been an incredible saver of both time and effort. I have a 4 x 8 trailer with the small coupler, a two wheel car dolly with a 2" and a 26' tandem trailer with the large coupler.

I used to have to have and swap three dirty, rusty, heavy inserts with a different size ball on each. It was a pain. Having them frozen into the receiver in winter only made it worse. Now I just change the balls on the permanently mounted shank in a single insert I keep locked on the receiver. It has made life so much simpler. I highly recommend this system. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif My only regret is I didn't get one years ago. /w3tcompact/icons/hmm.gif
