JLoaf,
Turn off your caps lock, my eyes are vibrating! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
You'll have to experiment with funnels, some have tapered
snouts, you cut them as high as possible for max flow, but
still small enough to fit security in the hole.
Would be nice if the hole was threaded and a threaded funnel
was included or offered at the dealers. In my mind, the
engineers have really ignored this problem,
I'm guessing because they spend all day playing with their
computers instead of using the products they design.
My 20 year old Ford has a filler hole in the center of the
tractor, a simple large flow funnel works great and doesn't
stand the risk of tipping over.
With the new "flat" floors a simple removable rubber plug or
better yet a flip panel like so many hoods have for fuel filling
would work better.
My Ford has a DIPSTICK, easy to read, easy to use.
My newer Kubota has a dipstick but filler is in the rear and
a pain.
My new Deere has the filler in same ridiculous spot, and also
had no dipstick a goofy "sight" glass that must be a total
riot to use if you have a backhoe on the tractor.
I'll have to go buy a John Deere flashlight for the times I
want to check it when't it's dark or don't want to turn all
the shop lights on just to get the tractor out.
If you can comfortably hold a five gallon jug up with one
hand, while holding the funnel with the other hand, until it
drains through that 1/4 inch tip, please don't come by the
tavern on arm wrestling night, I don't want to meet you.
