I was cleaning out the garage the other day and ran across a little rectangular reflector that was self adhesive. I've had it for years and can't even remember why I had bought it to begin with. I thought I had might as well use it so I stuck it on the backside of my ROPS on the cross bar, never thought any more about it until I was driving the tractor home last night. I was coming home right after dark and my wive was behind me in the p/u. The first thing she said was that little reflector sure lit up well from down the road. It's quite hilly here and she was catching a glimpse of the top of the ROPS every now and then and said that little thing reall lit up. Might save me from gettin rear ended one day.

John )</font>I think the advent of reflective tape for trucks, trailers and equipment was one of the greatest all time safety improvements. I know when I pull in at night and my trailer is there, it lights up like a Christmas tree so to speak.

In most states I'm sure it's a requirement (state law) if you are on a public roadway traveling under 25 MPH. If I have to get on the road, (if there's no improved shoulder) it's the slow moving placard and flashers.

Something I've noticed concerning the color of reflectors

White and yellow are the most noticeable with white being the more visible.
Red and blue are the least noticeable with blue being the least visible.

I have all four of these colors on my driveway entrance marker post.
Coming up the road at night I spot the white ones way before I notice the other colored reflectors.
