It's finished.... well almost. With this type of repair there are always a few loose ends to tie up.

The cab linings are in and all the decals are on.

All the lighting, of which none had previously been working, is all now fully functional. Some of the previous owners electrical "repairs" and splices into the loom were to say the least, interesting !! The short circuit on the pre-heat had burnt out the ignition switch so a replacement had to be sourced and installed. Fortunately most of the electrical items of this era are Lucas and are common to Ford, Massey, Leyland and the like.

I have the wiper motor and arm to refit, but first need to source a fine thread half nut or locknut as sometimes known to attach the motor shaft as it comes through the cab. Proving surprising difficult to track one down.

The fuel gauge was not working The disconnected wire at the sender unit turned out only to mask that the sender had failed. A new sender unit is on order via Sparex and should be available in next few days.

All in all, I'm very happy with the result. Wife now wants to know what I'm for doing with my evenings and weekends. She's even suggested I might sell and look for another project.

Hmm.... now there's a thought !!

WOW!!!

It is a pity that we place a higher value on building something new over restoring something old.

That Case looks showroom new!

I could never sell it I expect but in the US the key seems to find someone who now has some net worth and wants to relive the past.

Due to the price most any buyer is going to keep it in the new like condition and not put in back to barn yard. Kept inside it will look the same 50 years from now.

Awesome job you have done.

Thanks Gale for the kind words.

I've no real intention to sell, but the "toy" shed is full to capacity. If I want to work on another something is going to have to go and I'm quite attached to my Iseki too.

Perhaps I need another shed :p

Looks like you will have a nice little project for the next while. If you are taking it to that level of stripping down and repairing it, that should be a nice looking unit when you are done. Any concerns of getting parts for it in your area? That was one of the reasons we did not repair one of our loader tractors anymore a while back - parts were becoming a problem.

We also used to have a David Brown - pre-Case days and only 2WD but it was a tough tractor - either a 880 or a 990 if I recall. Was running fine when we traded it in - just was not big or heavy enough anymore for the loader work we needed.

Have fun!
i have a 1294 case 4x4 having trouble getting front end parts everything else works good looking for front axle or something else that will fit and maybe change the whole front end any info would help
