Regen issue XR4040H

2014 XR4040H 900h. Regens every 4 hours. 2-3 cycles ago the Regen cycle lasted 2 hours then back to normal. Now the Regen won't turn off. I was Regen and running the tractor at 2000rpm. Now if I Regen at 2k RPM the warning lamp comes on and the Regen cycle stops mid process. If I keep the RPM above 2300 rpm the Regen indicator lamps stay on with no warning light. But I've regen for over 3 hours and it hasn't completed the cycle.

Changing fuel filters tomorrow. Little water and rust in the tank noticed this week from previous owner.

Anything I should be checking before just replacing parts?

Might be the DPF is getting plugged up. Might be time to clean it or replace it.

Strange!!! My xg3031 with 1000 hrs is doing exactly the same thing. Trouble shooting, the burner/glow plug is working. Pulled pre filter sensors and both were sooty - I think the DPF is working fine - may have injector issues ie too much fuel bad spray pattern???. My local dealer is a joke - three week wait for the mechanic to even look at it. If you figure it out let me know what they found. Mine seems to keep working without going into limp.

I think the hot exhuast light should also be on if it was doing a regen.Something is stopping the regen from starting,can you check for any codes?

I don't own a scan tool for the tractor. I have the round connector on my tractor. Is there a scan tool you recommend?

So I have bacteria in my fuel tank and filters. After changing the filters and applying treatment for the biofilm my regen finally cycled after about an hour. I suspect there is something more going on still. If anything changes over the next couple regen cycles I'll keep the forum posted.

I used Bio-kleen biocide a few hairs over 1/2 oz directly in the tank and filled the tank up. Along with Power Service - clear diesel directly at the same time. Dosed both according to instructions.

I'll keep these additives ongoing along with some sort of Tier 4 compliant fuel additive for dpf systems. I haven't picked one out yet. If it gives me issues I'm just going to delete the system. Seems straight forward after reading dozens of forums/posts piecing all the information together.
