If your model tractor is anything like mine, if you are where you can run it at 3/4 throttle you will go a long time between regen cycles. In the spring I clean out a horse corral and haul the manure to my place which is about 3 miles away, I am pulling a 10 foot dump trailer loaded as high as I can get it and run the tractor 3/4 to all full throttle. My regen time goes up to almost 40 hours in between. First time it did that I thought it was broken but it finially did its thing. On mine the engine changes pitch and I check the lights on the dash. One problem I have is in bright light my glasses get dark and I cannot see the lights in the dash. I alsmost shut mine one once when the lights were on

90% of the time in COLD weather, the reason a Regen won't complete is because the coolant temp is too low. I've had the completely block off the air flow to the radiator to get a machine to warm up enough to start a Regen. Doing that you need to watch the ECT but it's easy to do this if it is very cold outside.

It isn't.

The engine in the 3350 is unique in that it is the only Kubota mechanically injected engine with DPF. The regen algorithm is completely different.

So a L3301 or L3901 would be direct injection?

Direct/indirect injection is an entirely different matter.

The small 4 cylinder engine used in the B3350 and some TOL zero turn mowers is mechanically injected.

Other currently produced Kubota diesel engines used in farm tractors are common rail.

Designing a nonsensical DPF system for a mechanically injected engine is an entirely different and more difficult engineering project than such for a common rail engine.

I expect that Kubota will eventually work this out in some fashion but it appears that they are not yet there.

I also expect that Kubota will either redesign the B3350 engine with a common rail system or replace (or discontinue) the engine.

Yes that is basically right. I run my engine at what I think is appropriate rpm for job. When the regen light comes on I crank up the rpm till system is happy and perform regen. After regen is done I ease throttle back to appropriate rpm. This all would be a pain in the rear with a gear drive tractor but with HST it’s not too bad.

Common rail is what I meant. Yes sounds like Mechanical injection and dpf is a bad combo for sure.

I have a gear drive tractor and it is no different than running normanly. Mine did one today and I just shifted to low range 4 gear and kept working. Depending on what I am doing I do not use low range but did so today because the ground was rough

and it's very bad for your tractor.
HST pumps need to run at a proper speed, it also keeps the fluid cool. Running them at low rpm will overheat them, lower their life expectancy.

I was told run ALWAYS above 1800 rpm, which on my kioti ck35 is 540 "e" pto speed. I find that if I run with the revs at 2000-2200 the regens are spaced way farther apart.

First regen was 37 hours, second 35 hours later at 72 hours. I've run it at 2k and above since then and am at 134 hours (62 hours since last regen) and not had another regen. Regens last 10-15 minutes while i"m still working.

now that winter is upon us we'll see how this goes. When I use the tractor it will be for shorter periods, plus it's gonna be winter diesel or I may put in additives so that may change things, plus warm up will be much longer (already noticed that with temps in the upper 30s). So I'm expecting much more frequent regen cycles.
