Reinstalling Loader Question

The pins are under shear force load only. There’s zero rotation. I don’t see the grease helping anything.

Thanks for the discussion here. The reason I asked was to make sure there was no glaring reason I should not use grease. Many times I have been very surprised by what I have learned here - this is good place to just ask stuff and see what comes back. Anyway, I live in a part of the country where half the world is covered in road salt 6 or 7 months a year. We worry a lot about stuff we want to be able to take apart. Especially non-moving stuff like those pins, that are directly exposed to the salt enviroment and may sit for a long time before they need to be taken apart. To me, a little mess is nothing compared to a frozen joint. But used sparingly why would there be a mess. If the pin comes out easy you don't even have to touch the greasy part. Some of you may remember a guy who called himself RedHorse on here way back. From southern NH. He bought a used Kubota and if I remember correctly his loader retention pins were froze so badly he could not get them out. You guys that live where you don't have to think about road salt and chlorides don't know how lucky you are and I can understand you questioning my wanting to use grease.

I only use never seize for the most demanding situations. It's just nasty stuff and gets all over your hands!

That's funny.

It's not quite that bad. I learned not to touch my face or put things in my mouth a while back already.
