I cannot give direct advise, but know what im going to focus on when i buy my next tractor.

A little over 3 years ago, i was in the market, bought new and small vs used and bigger. (Wife who pays the bills insisted on new/warranty) I plan to buy a larger (50-60 hp, mfwd, loader, open station) when my JD 3005 is paid off. I often check out tractorhouse.com, kubota M5700, M6800 are at the top of my list, as are several JD models, 2350/2355, 2550/2555 come to mind. The larger siblings of thoes models might suit your needs, and be had in the $20k or less range, and with reasonable hours (<2000).

Just my thoughts, best advice is go sit on the real thing.... Many of them, figure out what fits best.

Just going by what you read, there are some very good models to choose from in the 50-100 hp utility category. Massey, Deere, Kubota, Kioti, New Holland, Case IH - no particular order - all have seriously good equipment in that range but as others say, you'd have to decide on your own among them. I hear some comments that the Deere 5M's are a big step up in both paerformance and price vs. the 5E models.

This will be hard to find. White field boss 2-60 with front wheel assist. Tractor was imported from Italy, but has been a real workhorse and was bought at auction.

Just buy a Kubota and skip the angst. Nothing will go wrong anyway but if it does there's a solid dealer network, a stand up parent company and a model to suit everyone. I never planned to own several of them but they work and don't break so I took the easy way out.

Kubota makes good quality equipment. My only issue with them is that they can be very light weight in construction vs some of the competition. Just not beefy enough for my taste. For light work they are fine but using heavy implements can be a problem long term for them.

Initially quality and overall dealer support is first class though.

If price doesn't matter I would be looking at European tractors with front pto and massive 3pt lift capacity.

Deutz, massey, fendt, etc.

Gotta be an agco dealer around?

There are some beautiful machines available...

Reliability? Who knows. The current trend is to electronify (new word from the Holeycow dictionary of bad English) everything. Ugly, difficult to diagnose problems waiting to happen, imo.

If you are looking for something basic and tough the Koreans have that covered. Fancy and tough, the Germans have that covered.

good luck!

Well that's a bit confusing as your original post state for "bush hogging disking and loader work", certainly nothing indicating a Kubota wouldn't hold up to, ours sure has.

But if money was no concern and I needed weight, I'd go with an M Series Deere, love them. I couldn't justify (afford) the cost and larger size.

When you get to the M series kubotas......They are every bit as heavy duty as the competition. And 65-80HP puts you into that category.

For what you describe your needs are, all the major brands as mentioned, including kubota are worth a look. And they all spec similarly. Sure, some are bigger and heavier, but some are smaller and lighter in that HP range.

But you asked was what was a good, comfortable, and reliable tractor in the 65-80 PTO HP range....to be used for mowing, pulling a disc, loader work, etc.

Perhaps if you had asked what is the heaviest, biggest, beefiest tractor in that HP range, you would be getting different answers? So what exactaly are you looking for.

And perhaps it would help if you knew (or could share) what implements you plan on running. How big is the disc? Bushhog? How much FEL do you need to lift? Plan on lifting 2-ton pallets of whatever? or just a loader tractor to push dirt / brush around.

OR perhaps look at the new kubota M5 and M6 series. The M6-111 at 82 PTO HP and 9600# weight....they dont get much beefier at/around 80 PTO HP.

The think about tractors......unless you are shopping for the biggest of the biggest, or the smallest of the smallest......no matter what you end up with, there is always gonna be something bigger/beefier.
