Remote battery cables on BX2370

I'll 2nd or 3rd Anderson Plugs. Was going to then saw others beat me to the punch.

I've looked off most of the clamps on my jumper cables & put on Anderson SB175 plugs (red is the 12v standard color, each color is keyed uniquely). Haven't mounted the sockets to the trucks or tractor yet though. Have the parts to wire up a 12klbs winch the same way.

I'm a huge fan of PowerPoles too for low amperage stuff. They are basically the same thing from the same company for 15, 30 & 45@ draws. VERY popular for HAM radio.

And dont forget to buy the covers for them to keep the crap out when not in use, and run a bead of silicone in the back around the wires to stop the crap getting in that way or fit the optional cable sleeves.

Where did you find that bulkhead mounted cover? I've been looking for one for a long time. The only bulkhead bracket for an Anderson plug I've found is some outfit out of England that sells on eBay. And that's just a metal bracket, no integrated cover.

Really want one to mount to the box in the front of my power tilting deck trailer. Pump & battery are in there & want a clean Anderson plug on the outside to plug a winch into.

I put a ring terminal on the bolt of my starter. From there into a fuse, then up to the dash where I drilled a hole for a toggle switch. From the switch I went back down by the firewall and inserted it into the braided wire protection and pushed it back to the rear end. I then mounted a cigarette outlet on the rear cross member/fender bolt. The outlet has a plastic plug in it to keep junk out, but it certainly isn't sealed. May give me trouble down the road, but works fine now. I use the outlet for my sprayer, my aux lights (already had ROPS lights on the regular wire), and a battery tender so she starts nice during winter.

The sprayer load is 8 amps, the fuse is 10 and the switch is a 20 amp. The first switch, I accidently grabbed a 6 amp and it didn't last long. I put in a 15 amp and the contact melted off. So I put in a 20 amp. If that melts, I kept the receipt and will put in another one for free. But while it's working, it works well. Very convenient for spraying.

Did manage to track down the names in the image enough to find those. Unfortunately they only seem to exist down under. Lol, why can't you mount your Anderson Plugs in America. Googling "anderson plug mounting kit 175" turns them up. I'd previously been looking for "Anderson 175 mounting bracket" and only finding the British ones.

The quest continues.

Some of the ebay sellers in OZ post to the US, our postal system is a HUGE ripoff, but there's always the possibility of getting stuff sent to me then I repackage and send on if a few of you want to get together to purchase or similar. I haven't purchased the products here, but I'm always on the lookout for bits and pieces re anderson plug mounting. I drew up a flush mount stainless bracket for a mate to cut and bend a few years ago, but as I did he left his job so missed out on access to the equipment.
There are a lot of Chinese anderson copies out there as well, I stick with Anderson brand. It's a pity they don't do more mounting options.

I've standardized on Hopkins connectors for low current (<40 amps or so..) instead of using 'cigar lighter' and such shapes. (Now that I'm never lighting cigarettes I had to get rid of those floppy, bulking connectors.) I've got them instead in my cars, trucks and the BX23 - 1 at the seat switched power and 1 poking out of the hood for the Battery Tender 12V (I move it around.) I bought a bunch of double-ended 'extensions' and just split 'em to add to new vehicles and toys (Tender came with same, air compressor, USB power splitter, etc.) as they arrive. Unless you're truly doing battery level power - CCA, >100 amps, or true dead jumps or such - those connectors are way overkill.
