Remote control for Agrex spreader

Agrex sells a cable operated manual, remote control accessory for their rotary spreaders. It costs over $300.00. It consists of a handle, mounting plate and a push-pull style cable assembly that operates the dosing disc. This allows operation of the spreader from the tractor seat.

I wonder if any of you that operate rotary PTO powered spreaders have fabricated anything to accomplish remote operation from the tractor seat? $300.00+ is over the top for such a simple accessory.

I bolted a longer handle onto my Agrex spreader so I can reach it from the seat. I wasn’t about to pay $300 for $50 with of parts.
Maybe one day I will make a handle that mounts in the cab with a cable that runs back there that can be connected to the speaker when its installed on the tractor.
For now, I have to open the back window and move the lever.

I fabbed up a broomstick arrangement to operate the dosing disc...not very elegant and it gets tangled up in the PTO engagement lever and the brake lever. My M-F is a bit crowded on the left side of the seat between the fender and transmission. That Agrex remote would solve the crowding problem for sure.

I cut a piece of PVC 2" pipe and slid it over the handles. Works for me.
