You need to consider animals: DEER and RACCOONS. You are planting their favorites.

Take time to complete your TBN PROFILE.

Wow alot of great info guys.

I wouldn't consider animals, only plants, but that's impressive that people raise animals like that. I would like zucchini, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, celery, egg plant, and potatoes to start off. I would also like to add some corn and herbs in the future. Any comments on that?

I am 33, so this isn't a place to retire. An old railroad switch house was on the property, but collapsed years ago.

Keeping bugs off tomato and eggplant may be hard week at a time. when it gets close to harvest.. might have to pick early, vs being 2 days late and having over-ripe 'maters.... etc.

Good luck with the garden. I plant one too. I get a few things out of it, but usually end up mowing or bush hogging it eventually. I used to have a very nice garden, but you really almost need to work a little in it everyday. Otherwise the weeds will eventually win out. I'd say plant it and do the best you can. There's also different flowers sun flowers etc you can plant around it to help with some critters
