Cub Cadet 7195
I have a Cub Cadet 7195 with a FEL. I was driving across a field when it stated to make noise. I moved the control rod into it's neutral position and the noise stops. When I move it back to the engaged position it starts to make noise again. When engaged the FEL and 3 point hitch hardly moves. The tractor is parked in an unheated garage, it was about 25 degrees outside and before I used it I let it warm up. I used the FEL before I took off acrossed the field and it worked fine. I don't know anything about hydraulics, can someone with this problem.
Thanks,
Joey

The noise you hear when hyd control lever isn't in neutral position is the relief valve being unseated. Hyd oil flowing through an unseated relief causes the oil to heat plus robs flow from other hyd functions such as FEL & 3 pt hitch.

Ok, I can understand that. Do you know if there is a way I can get it to reseat again? Or is it a repair, or replace?

Could there be any quick couplers on your tractor.
If one has become partially unseated it will restrict flow resulting in relief valve noise and slow hydraulics.

If there are ones, shut the tractor off, move the hydraulic lever for the FEL to all possible positions to bleed off any pressure,
Remove and re seat the couplers

Thanks for the reply. I can check tomorrow. I have two valve control boxes, one below the FEL Joy stick, and one under the right fender. Just wondering if there is a pressure relief on both valve boxes? Or is the relief valve located someplace else? I was thinking of borrowing a pressure gauge just to see what my pressure is. Do you happen to know where I can plug it in?
Thanks,
Joe

I took the spool valve off and brought it to an implement shop. They took it apart, checked the O rings, they were fine. They did find the pressure relief valve stuck. They freed it and gave it one turn.
Took them 5 minutes, no charge.
Put everything back together and works fine. I'm going to change the hydraulic fluid and filters and should be good.
