I am not sure waht the cost would be. I contacted Lloyd miller they wanted $503 for one remote. I called Williams Farm machinary in Charlotte they had one for $284 and shipped it in one day I recieved the kit yesterday ordered it monday. I was impressed. With the kit instructions and the help on here It does not look to be more than an afternoon project once I get the fire stoked up in the workshop. One last question for those who have rear remotes. looking at the book it talks about the lever returning to nuetral once let go. if I am running a log splitter with a open center valve will I have to physically hold open the remote control (with a bungee or rope) lever on the tractor to keep the circut open?

Yep. I have to do the same thing when I run my post driver. I hook one end to the lever and the other end to the metal plate the right rear light sits on (your tractor might be different. I actually keep the bungee cord on the tractor all the time. When it's not holding the lever, I hook it in the slot the lever moves in.

1st question, if I can't find leak lock what should I use on the threaded fittings to prevent leaks? where can I find this type of product?

Go to your local hardware store and get a small container of TFE Paste. It's pipe thread compound with Teflon. A small container will cost about $5 and will last a lifetime. It's found in the plumbing section. Do NOT use teflon tape.

Thanks for the heads up on the price increase. I've been thinking of adding the second remote to my tractor for more than a year and that news just made up my mind. I picked one up at the dealer today for $226.00 with tax. The dealer told me after the first of the year the price would be over $500.00. Now I have a spring project that IH3444 and myself can tackle. The hardest part is going to be getting that R-4 filled with fluid off the tractor 600 rolling pounds . Would it be possible to install this kit without removing the tire????

Possible, yes, but very inconvenient.

All Done!

thanks for all the advice. I had the whole job done in about 2 hours total. over 2 days but I guess with kids that is the way it goes. As I put the last bolt on the cover I did think briefly that a second remote would be useful but I only plan to run a log splitter or a top link so I will stay with one.

Some hints. I was worried about the tire since I was on my own. getting off and rolling was not to bad, it does take some back (I mean legs) one hint I learned to putting tire on was by accident. If you have a cement floor this trick might work. take a small piece of plywood and put it under the tire it seems to slide fairly well I used a piece of pipe and sort of scooted the tire toward the axle. I adjusted the jack so axle at the right height and I had the tire on. beginners luck.

They also put it in a plastic tube with a flat mouth applicator....very convenient. That's what I use.

Mike:

NH remotes were quite a bit cheaper (for the kit) than Kubota's ever were. My 3710's were $300.00 plus for each (3), my 5030's were right around the same for 2 and my M9 came from the factory with 2 installed (very unusual), but the dealer charged me $350.00 for the second and an additional $300.00 for proportional flow control (which he installed). By the way, is your bypass plug for your worksaver still holding up?

Sure is! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Worksaver ought to contract with you to make them instead of what they ship with their post driver.
