I am looking into the options for rear remotes on a B3030. I've read much about different types of valves so I want to make sure I don't get the wrong set-up, or end up with a system that will not allow me to operate different types of implements.

I understand, I think, that for a TnT I would want 2 double-action (DA)valves. I believe these will have to be open center. Is that correct? These type of valves could then be used for any implement that used double-action cylinders.

However, how would that work if I had an implement that required a pressure supply? For instance, I'm thinking there may be a 3PH wood splitter in my future. Wouldn't this require hydraulic pressure and use it's own valve for cylinder actuation (or do they always use a PTO-driven pump and separate hydraulic system)? How could I make use of the rear remotes to operate the log splitter if the valves are both for DA cylinders?

What other kinds of valves are commonly used? I see many different descriptions in the Surplus Center catalog but am unfamiliar with the terminology.

I appreciate any and all comments.

The Prince stack valves are very popular for your application.
Basically you want:
4-way
Double acting
Spring return to center
Adjustable relief valve
Power Beyond capable
Open Center

As for the splitter, a popular way to power it from remotes is to bungee the handle down so the fluid flows continuously through the valve on the splitter.

You can do a search here for "prince" to see how other's have done it.
