Removal of brush hog blades???

On my LX4, I just have to remove the bolt that adjusts the height of the trail wheel and then swing that assembly up to get access to the hole to view the bolts.

The stump jumper on the LX4 is held on by the bolts that hold the blades.

A 6 foot piece of pipe slipped over my 3/4" socket driver easily removed the blades. I needed a couple clamps to hold the stump jumper and 1st bolt in place to put the nut back on and tighten it and then just one clamp to hold the next bolt in place.

When reusing nuts, JD says to check them after 1 hour and then after 10 hours. I did this and found the nuts not so tight after 1 hour but were tight after 10 hours.

Seems like you went through a lot of trouble to sharpen the blades. I usually just sharpen them while on the bushog. If you knew you couldn't find blades, why worry with the removal?
It is a lot easier to just grind them sharpe while on the bushog.

Lots of prior posts on this issue, and many solutions offered, which you can review at your leisure. I have an access flap on my Woods, but the 1 11/16 bolts were difficult, even with lock-eze, a torch and a 3' extension on the socket wrench. So, a 3/4 impact wrench upgrade was in order, and it has worked fine.
